RAIPUR: Chhattisgarh will soon have its own Science city at its new capital Naya Raipur, integrating the latest technological advancements, making the state a major hub for science and technology in the country.
This ambitious project is aimed to come up on 30 acres in Sector-13 of Naya Raipur.
A high-level meeting chaired by Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma was held to strategise the swift and time-bound execution of the project.
“As chief minister Vishnu Deo Sai envisions Chhattisgarh not just as a state of natural resources but as a powerhouse of scientific and technological advancements. The Science City will be developed with an ‘Edutainment’ (Education + Entertainment) approach, allowing students, researchers, and the general public to engage deeply with science and technology,” said deputy CM Sharma.
Chief minister Vishnu Deo Sai said that the state will no longer be confined to its traditional identity of agriculture and natural resources—instead, it will emerge as a leader in science, technology, and innovation. The Science City is not just an educational project; it is a revolutionary step that will open new doors for our youth and scientific community.
The Science City will house state-of-the-art facilities, making it one of the leading scientific hubs in the country. Key components of the Science Center include Space & Astronomy Center, Smart City & Green Technology Section, climate change & environmental research hub, robotics & artificial intelligence (AI) laboratory, aerospace research and development section, virtual experiment labs for hands-on scientific learning, advanced 3D theatre & immersive science displays.
These facilities will offer unparalleled opportunities for students, researchers, and technology enthusiasts, making science more accessible and engaging for the youth of Chhattisgarh.
Minister Sharma highlighted that the Science City would be more than just an educational institution—it will serve as an inspiration for the youth. He directed the authorities to establish experimental learning zones where students can gain hands-on experience in scientific concepts and real-world applications.
The Science City is expected to boost science tourism, attract international collaborations, and create a thriving ecosystem for scientific research and innovation.
Sharma emphasized that the Science City be designed with future-ready technological advancements to cater to evolving scientific needs.
To establish Chhattisgarh’s Science City as a globally recognized research and innovation center, the government will integrate the latest AI-driven scientific tools and research methodologies, develop a platform for international collaborations with top scientific institutions, host global-level science fairs, innovation competitions, and research programs
A comprehensive action plan will be prepared in collaboration with government agencies, scientists, and academia, ensuring that Chhattisgarh becomes a hub of cutting-edge scientific research and technological breakthroughs.
