NEW DELHI: Two persons of a family were killed and four others injured when a car heading to the Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj fell off a culvert in Chhattisgarh's Kondagaon district on Saturday, police said.
The incident took place near Borgaon village on National Highway-30 within the jurisdiction of Farasgaon police station at approximately 6.45 am, according to an official statement.
Initial reports indicated that family members from Bengaluru were travelling in two vehicles towards Prayagraj, the official confirmed.
At a curve in the road, one vehicle's driver lost control, causing the car to veer off the road. The vehicle fell from a small culvert and collided with a tree.
"Two of the occupants died on the spot, four sustained injuries," the official stated.
A passing motorist contacted emergency services and notified the police. Subsequently, the injured individuals were transported to a medical facility in Farasgon.
