Man, daughter die in road accident near Chennai

CHENNAI: A 35-year-old man and his three-year-old daughter died when a truck collided with their two-wheeler on the Singaperumal Koil - Sriperumbudur Road on Sunday night.
The deceased have been identified as Sathish of Pattunool Chatram and his daughter, S Joshika.
The accident happened when they were returning home after shopping. A container truck, moving in the opposite direction, collided with their two-wheeler. Sathish and Joshika were thrown off the two-wheeler in the impact of the collision, leaving them with severe head injuries.
Joshika, who was seated in front, did not wear a helmet. She died on the spot. Sathish, who wore a helmet, died in a govt hospital later.
The driver escaped from the accident spot after abandoning the truck.
The Oragadam police registered a case and launched a hunt for the truck driver.
