Rohtak man kills mentally ill sister with axe, calls cops to report crime

ROHTAK: In a shocking incident near Kodi Ashram in Sanjay Colony here, a boy killed her 29-year-old sister with an axe on Monday. However, after committing the crime, the accused called the police control room and reported the crime.
The deceased has been identified as Ritu, who was reportedly suffering from mental health issues. It is reported that her condition had been causing distress in the family, which led the brother to commit the crime.

As per police, the murder took place on Monday around 6:30pm. The accused, identified as Yogesh, works at a clothing shop in Shauri Market. According to initial reports, he came home in the evening and saw his sister holding an axe.
In a fit of rage, he grabbed the axe and struck Ritu on the face, leaving her severely injured. She collapsed on the ground, bleeding profusely, and succumbed to her injuries on the spot. Realizing what he had done, Yogesh immediately called the police control room and reported the crime.
Later, a team from the city police station and forensic experts arrived at the location and started an investigation.
A spokesperson of the Rohtak police department, Sunny, said: "The accused was taken into custody at the scene. He had called the police himself to report the incident. The body has been sent for post-mortem examination, and further action will be taken based on statements and forensic findings."
During interrogation, Yogesh revealed that his sister Ritu, who was mentally ill, had earlier attacked their mother with the same axe. Their mother, fed up with the situation, had left the house some time ago. When Yogesh returned home that evening and saw the altercation, a heated argument broke out between him and his sister. In a fit of anger, he lost control and ended up killing her.
