Panchkula Assembly Election Result 2024: Congress's Chander Mohan defeats BJP's Gian Chand Gupta by 1997 votes

Panchkula, a legislative assembly constituency in Haryana and part of the Ambala Lok Sabha constituency, held its elections on October 5. Gian Chand Gupta of the Bharatiya Janata Party won the 2019 elections, defeating Chander Mohan of the Indian National Congress by a margin of 5,633 votes.

NEW DELHI: Congress's Chander Mohan defeated BJP's Gian Chand Gupta in Panchkula by 1997 votes, according to Election Commission of India (ECI) data.
Chander Mohan got 67397 votes, while the BJP's Gian Chand Gupta secured 65400 votes in the assembly polls.
"I am thankful to God and the aware voters of Panchkula. I will try my best to meet their expectations," Chander Mohan said after his victory.
The elections in Haryana were held on October 5 and votes were counted on Tuesday.

One of the key constituencies is Panchkula, which is part of the Ambala Lok Sabha constituency and forms a continuous area with Chandigarh and Mohali.
It is a General category assembly seat. In the 2011 census, Panchkula had a population of 561,293, comprising 299,679 males and 261,614 females.

During the 2019 elections, Gian Chand Gupta of the Bharatiya Janata Party emerged victorious by defeating Chander Mohan of the Indian National Congress with a margin of 5,633 votes.
