  2. Open the Personal details page on the Stripe Dashboard.
  3. Under the Two-step authentication section, click Add authentication method.

  6. Confirm the code shown on your device to finish setup.
  7. Write down the backup code and store it in a safe place.

At your next sign-in, you can use your authenticator app for two-step authentication.

Switching to a new device

If your authenticator app syncs or exports secret keys, no action is needed to switch devices. Otherwise, follow the steps below depending on if you can sign in or not.

Can you still sign in with the old device or another authentication method?

To use the authenticator app on your new device, update your two-step authentication settings in the Dashboard. This process invalidates any verification codes on the old device.

  1. Open the Personal details page on the Stripe Dashboard.
  2. Under the Two-step authentication section, click the "..." icon next to your current authenticator app method.
  3. Select Update.
  4. Follow the prompts to set up the authenticator app on your new device.
