Note: The steps listed in this article will be updated soon to reflect the new Microsoft Planner experience, which is currently rolling out to customers. Learn more about the new Planner in Frequently asked questions about Planner. If you're working from a Government Cloud Communities (GCC), GCC High, or Department of Defense (DoD) environment, continue referring to the instructions in this article.
If you're working on a lot of different plans at one time, it can be helpful to pin some of them, making them easier to access and check in on at a glance. Why can't I pin some of my plans?
To pin a plan
Point to it in the Planner hub, select the three dots, and then choose Add to pins. This moves the plan into the Pins list.
When you've pinned a plan:
-
It shows at the top of the Planner hub with some progress information.
-
It's added to the list of plans on the left, making it easier to switch to from another plan.
To remove a pinned plan
Point to it in the Planner hub, select the three dots, and then choose Remove pin. This moves the plan back into the All plans list.
Seeing plans you didn't pin?
The list of pinned plans is shared across all products that use Microsoft 365 Groups. For example, if you pin a group in Outlook, the plan for that group will also be pinned in Planner. The same is true for plans you pin in Planner—the groups for those plans will be pinned in Outlook, OneDrive, and anywhere else where you're using Microsoft 365 Groups.
Why can't I pin some of my plans?
If your organization is not using Exchange Online for your account, you won't be able to pin specific plans in Planner.
