funl Karachi 08 – Sustainability and Circular Economy
22nd November ’24 marked the date for funl Karachi 08 with the theme of Sustainability and Circular Economy.
The event drew a great audience, all of which had come to take part in the discussion of how to better the processes in businesses for a sustainable future and how to come up with startups that can potentially solve these challenges.
With an amazing line up in the panel including Favad Soomro, Head of Engro foundation, Sophia Hasnain, Founder of Linked Things, Salman Hameed, Lead Sustainability Consultant at Green Alpha and Nofal Khan, Founder and CEO of Swag Kicks!
Leading the panel was Angel Imdad, the Founder and CEO of Irverde, a superb startup working in the circular economy space. The discussion carried around the various ways organizations can be more responsible, along with steps they can take to ensure a responsible method for their operations. Interesting points on the current ongoing efforts were also highlighted which shed light on how others can also learn from the same.
With Pakistan Beverages Limited taking the stage right after, they discussed how their efforts into sustainable manufacturing have paid off, and how they’re now almost at the world standard for sustainable bottle productions as well!
Calcix International, led by Muhammad Mahad Arif took the stage right after, showing their great traction in producing Calcix Pellets as an alternative to plastics. They were met with great applause when PBL offered a potential pilot with them for manufacturing sustainably as well!
But the show didn’t end there! As the networking and snacks started, V-lektra Electric Motorcycles was also at hand for test rides, which many of the participants enjoyed! Their long range, high-quality construction and amazing design aesthetics wowed the crowd as they tried their hand at these superb vehicles.
All-in-all a learning and fun-filled evening for all that came with opportunities and potential for many that came, funl Karachi 08 was a resounding success!
