The 2025 MLB regular season is nearing an end, making it clear where teams stand heading into the stretch run.

The Los Angeles Dodgers remain MLB World Series odds favorites, but they donโ€™t find themselves at the top of these updated power rankings. That title belongs to the Milwaukee Brewers, who are tracking toward their best season in franchise history.

Read on for my complete list of 30 teams and where they stand in 2025.

Best & Worst MLB Teams, 2025

1. Milwaukee Brewers

Itโ€™s fair to question Milwaukeeโ€™s championship potential now that it has the second-best odds to win it all, especially since this club hasnโ€™t won a pennant since 1982. But nobody can argue that anyone is playing better ball than the Brewers this season.

2. Philadelphia Phillies

Kyle Schwarber has driven in more runs than any player this season, which is something Iโ€™m keeping a close eye on after he entered the year as a 50/1 long shot in the RBI leader odds market.

3. Detroit Tigers

Led by the AL Cy Young odds favorite Tarik Skubal, the Tigers are challenging for the top spot in the American League.

4. Toronto Blue Jays

The Blue Jays lead a competitive AL East race after entering the year with the longest odds to win the division.

5. Chicago Cubs

Because they play in a division with the hottest team in baseball, the Cubsโ€™ playoff path will likely come from the wild-card spot.

6. Los Angeles Dodgers

The Dodgers are getting healthy at just the right time, aiming to become the first back-to-back World Series champions in 25 years.

7. San Diego Padres

The Padres were briefly atop the NL West this late in the year for the first time since 2010, but dethroning the Dodgers is no easy task. Still, this is a team with immense potential in October.

8. New York Yankees

New York superstar Aaron Judge continues to lead Cal Raleigh in the latest AL MVP odds.

9. Boston Red Sox

The Red Sox have only one playoff berth since winning the 2018 World Series, but that could change if they play well down the stretch.

10. Houston Astros

Despite all the injuries, the Astros are in a position to maintain their AL West dominance.

11. New York Mets

Juan Soto has started to heat up at the opportune time for his debut season with the Mets.

12. Seattle Mariners

Raleigh leads the majors in home runs, setting a single-season record for most homers by a catcher.

13. Texas Rangers

The Rangers have the best ERA in baseball, which has kept them in the hunt for a wild-card spot.

14. Kansas City Royals

The Royals remain in the mix for a second straight postseason appearance.

15. Cincinnati Reds

Cincinnati has fallen back in the updated MLB playoff picture, but that doesnโ€™t take away from the season this team had under Terry Francona.

16. San Francisco Giants

Rafael Deversโ€™ production has dipped since being traded to the Giants.

17. Tampa Bay Rays

Junior Caminero has clubbed 40 home runs (sixth in MLB) in his first full season at this level.

18. Cleveland Guardians

Jose Ramirez has slumped of late, causing the Guardians to fall back in the playoff race.

19. St. Louis Cardinals

The Cardinals will miss the postseason for a third straight year. They havenโ€™t missed for four seasons in a row since 1995.

20. Arizona Diamondbacks

Corbin Carroll has double-digit triples for the third straight season, illustrating how special a player he is in Arizona.

21. Miami Marlins

After losing 100 games last year, the Marlins have shown some promising signs in their rebuild this season.

22. Los Angeles Angels

Remember when the Angels added players at the deadline?

23. Athletics

Nick Kurtz now has a commanding lead in the updated AL Rookie of the Year odds.

24. Minnesota Twins

Following a fire sale at the trade deadline, the Twins have entered a rebuild.

25. Baltimore Orioles

Baltimore has been the biggest disappointment in the AL this season.

26. Atlanta Braves

Atlanta has been the biggest disappointment in the NL this year.

27. Pittsburgh Pirates

Paul Skenes remains the betting favorite in the NL Cy Young odds race.

28. Washington Nationals

The Nationals fired their general manager and manager, signaling the start of their new rebuild.

29. Chicago White Sox

The White Sox have only won 36% of their games, but that still is enough to keep them from being the worst team in baseball for the second year in a row.

30. Colorado Rockies

The Rockies have lost 100 games for the third consecutive year.
