The 2025 MLB regular season is nearing an end, making it clear where teams stand heading into the stretch run.
The Los Angeles Dodgers remain MLB World Series odds favorites, but they don’t find themselves at the top of these updated power rankings. That title belongs to the Milwaukee Brewers, who are tracking toward their best season in franchise history.

Best & Worst MLB Teams, 2025

3. Detroit Tigers
Led by the AL Cy Young odds favorite Tarik Skubal, the Tigers are challenging for the top spot in the American League.
4. Toronto Blue Jays
The Blue Jays lead a competitive AL East race after entering the year with the longest odds to win the division.
5. Chicago Cubs
Because they play in a division with the hottest team in baseball, the Cubs’ playoff path will likely come from the wild-card spot.
6. Los Angeles Dodgers
The Dodgers are getting healthy at just the right time, aiming to become the first back-to-back World Series champions in 25 years.
7. San Diego Padres
The Padres were briefly atop the NL West this late in the year for the first time since 2010, but dethroning the Dodgers is no easy task. Still, this is a team with immense potential in October.
