pipx is a tool to help you install and run end-user applications written in Python. It's roughly similar to macOS's brew, JavaScript's npx, and Linux's apt. It's closely related to pip. In fact, it uses pip, but is focused on installing and managing Python packages that can be run from the command line directly as applications. pip is a general-purpose package installer for both libraries and apps with no environment isolation. pipx is made specifically for application installation, as it adds isolation yet still makes the apps available in your shell: pipx creates an isolated environment for each application and its associated packages. pipx does not ship with pip, but installing it is often an important part of bootstrapping your system. By default, pipx uses the same package index as pip, PyPI. pipx can also install from all other sources pip can, such as a local directory, wheel, git url, etc. -

JavaPackager is a hybrid plugin for Maven and Gradle which provides an easy way to package Java applications in native Windows, MacOS or GNU/Linux executables, and generate installers for them. It was born while teaching to my students how to build and distribute their Java apps, and after seeing that a chain of several plugins was needed to achieve this task, I decided to develop a plugin to rule them all. Apply JavaPackager plugin in build.gradle using legacy mode (because at the moment it's only available in Maven Central repository). When you build your app, all configuration details are hardcoded into the executable and cannot be changed without recreating it or hacking with a resource editor. JavaPackager introduces a feature that allows passing of additional JVM options at runtime from an .l4j.ini file (like Launch4j does, but available for all platforms in the same way). -

Dep was an official experiment to implement a package manager for Go. While dep has many discrete components and moving parts, all of these parts revolve around a central model. Dep is a tool intended primarily for use by developers, to support the work of actually writing and shipping code. It is not intended for end users who are installing Go software - that's what go get does. It is strongly recommended that you use a released version of dep. While tip is never purposefully broken, its stability is not guaranteed. Note that dep requires a functioning Go workspace and GOPATH. Dep is centered around the idea of the "four state system" - a model for classifying and organizing the on-disk state with which a package manager interacts. This was first articulated as a coherent, general model in this (long) article, though many of the principles in the four state model were derived from existing package managers. -

Electron Packager is a command line tool and Node.js library that bundles Electron-based application source code with a renamed Electron executable and supporting files into folders ready for distribution. For creating distributables like installers and Linux packages, consider using either Electron Forge (which uses Electron Packager internally), or one of the related Electron tools, which utilizes Electron Packager-created folders as a basis. Note that packaged Electron applications can be relatively large. A zipped, minimal Electron application is approximately the same size as the zipped prebuilt binary for a given target platform, target arch, and Electron version (files named electron-v${version}-${platform}-${arch}.zip). Building an Electron app for the Windows target platform requires editing the Electron.exe file. Currently, Electron Packager uses node-rcedit to accomplish this. -

Optionally, install the paragonie/sodium_compat package from composer if your php is < 7.2 or does not have libsodium installed. If your private key contains \n characters, be sure to wrap it in double quotes "" and not single quotes '' in order to properly interpret the escaped characters. You must specify supported algorithms for your application. You can add a leeway to account for when there is a clock skew times between the signing and verifying servers. It is recommended that this leeway should not be bigger than a few minutes. -

You can also install it once for all your local projects. This will find all of your Composer dependencies, find their Github repository, and star their GitHub repositories. This was inspired by cargo thanks, which was inspired in part by Medium's clapping button as a way to show thanks for someone else's work you've found enjoyment in. If you're wondering why did some dependencies get thanked and not others, the answer is that this plugin only supports Github at the moment. Pull requests are welcome to add support for thanking packages hosted on other services. Package authors can send a star to another package that they would like to thank. -

It's a user's responsibility to verify the contents of a PKGBUILD before building, but people can make mistakes and overlook details. -

When no package.json or binary can be found, undefined is returned instead. -
