Make a Gift to Special Olympics in Your Will

Special Olympics is recognized among the most trusted brands worldwide. That success is based on operating with the utmost trust and integrity in everything we do.

As someone who cares about Special Olympics Indiana, you are already familiar with our work and the lives being changed as a result.

Planned giving is the thoughtful process of integrating a charitable gift into a donor’s overall financial and estate plans. Through this process, a donor can make a legacy gift in support of Special Olympics. There are many options for planned giving, including bequests, outright gifts of stock, retirement plans and life insurance.

Why Special Olympics Indiana?

Planned gifts enable Special Olympics Indiana to expand its reach and influence into the future. When you make a legacy gift to us, we make these commitments in return:

We will continue to be good stewards of the funds you have entrusted to us — you deserve nothing less.

If you wish to remain anonymous, we will respect that.

We will be forever grateful for your support and the commitment you have shown to change the lives of people with intellectual disabilities through the power of sport.

The Carl and Betty Erskine Society

Our planned giving society is named in honor of the Erskines, natives of Anderson who have had an immeasurable impact on our movement. Carl Erskine is best known as a pitcher for the Brooklyn Dodgers. The last of the famed “Boys of Summer” team, Carl was a teammate and friend of Jackie Robinson, the first Black player in Major League Baseball. However, the most important role of Carl and Betty’s lives is as parents to a son with Down syndrome, which led to their connection with Special Olympics Indiana. Learn more about the Erskines’ impact on our program.

By including your name as a member of the Carl and Betty Erskine Society, you are setting an example and inspiring confidence in the family members, athletes, and community at large that Special Olympics’ life-improving mission will continue for generations to come. The size of your gift is entirely your choice and is kept confidential. If you have already included Special Olympics Indiana in a bequest or other planned gift, we hope you will let us know.
