"For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts. For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater: So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it." ~ Isaiah 55: 8-11

SEASON'S SWEETINGS / Taylored Expressions Blast from the Past Blog Hop...

I'm so sorry if you arrived here hoping to find a Thankful/Thanksgiving card... I remembered the sketch this time & forgot the theme... I just realized there was a theme about 5 minutes ago when I downloaded the badge for the hop... sorry!

I guess you could say this is just another casualty of me & the kids being sick... my brain matter was sneezed out days ago - lol! Anyways, I used the darling singin' cuppy from Season's Sweetings since I was dying to use this cute music paper from Cosmo Cricket's Jolly by Golly. He has glitter all over his head, but I know you can't see it.

There are plenty more amazing projects to see... and they probably used the right theme!

Thanks for hopping by...

BLUEBERRY GIRL / TPE #85 & TESC #131...

One of my fondest memories as a kid happened at my 'Gammaw's' house, my great grandmother Maisie Yelverton. She lived her entire life on the same road, within a 3 mile stretch. She lived on a farm, complete with an aging barn, cows, pigs, some chickens, and tons of trees; pecan, plum, fig, pomegranite... I loved spending time there - you never went hungry - lol!

When I saw this image by Mo Manning, Blueberry Girl, I just HAD TO HAVE IT! My mother has blueberry and blackberry bushes, and I'm so happy that my kids will know what it's like to pick those! I know it sounds silly, but picking things was such a joy to me, and I know it will be to them, too! This is my second card as guest designer for Mo's Dream Team blog - still pinching myself... and trying really hard not to post a card there EVERY day - cause you know I want to - lol!

I printed this image on white paper, so when I decided to use the Material Girl paper by Cosmo Cricket, I tea stained the paper the image is on. This is for 2 challenges, the Pink Elephant (childhood) and Taylor's sketch.

I hope you're having an awesome day & thanks so much for induging!

Here's a quick card I made last night - I just now have time t post it! Gotta love cupcakes!

This card is for the inspiration challenge over at Stampin' Celebration! I finally made the deadline - lol! I used Taylor's cute sketch, too!

This was a super easy card, mostly made from patterned paper and a Martha Stewart punch.

Bye for now!

ALL THE BEST / Tuesday Trigger - An exercise in Exotic...

I have never played along with the Moxie Fab World's Tuesday Trigger, faithfully posted by Cath - but I have lurked there, always planning to play, but always getting sidetracked...

When I saw this oh-so-tempting Tuesday Trigger, I immediately knew what I wanted to do! I 'loosely' based this card on Taylor's sketch this week - just cover up the bottom half of my card, take 4 or 5 steps back and squint... see? The sketch is sorta there!

If you pop by here often, you KNOW how much I [heart] my embossing folders! After embossing, I added some ink to the raised parts. The copper piece is fairly complicated, but I'll be doing a tutorial on that soon... I will tell you that it involved a pop can, a die, an EF, versamark, chunky copper EP, and Copics.

Thanks so much for dropping by!

BETTY SUMMER DIGI / TPE 79 & TESC #123...

How fun is this?!? A cute little Goth chick at the beach - lol! I'm thinking I may have given her too much of a tan when I colored her, but I only have 2 Copics for skin tones ~ oh well...
This week's sponsor for the Pink Elephants' DT card images is none other than our own very own DT member, Betty Roberts, with her line of Simply Betty Stamps! I paired her cute image with the sketch from Taylored Expressions.

Since we had a summer theme going on, I decided to open up my SU! Island Oasis paper, I just LOVE it! I'm having a super busy Monday, which is why I'm late with my post.... So I better go!

Bye for now...

GREENHOUSE GALA / TESC #122...

One of my dear co-workers is moving on to a bigger & better job, and today is her last day. So I made this quick card for her...

I used the sketch from Taylored Expressions ~ SO CUTE!!! And look at this awesome paper from Stampin' Up! called Greenhouse Gala.... LOVE IT!!! The butterflies were punched with a Martha Stewart punch. The little tag (which is one of my favorite embellishments these days) is also SU!, the jewelry tag.

Sorry this is so quick... see you real soon!

ELLA LOLLIPOP / TE SKETCH...

Here's a quick card using Lori Boyd's digi stamp, Ella Lollipop. I printed it waaaay too big, so I decided just to use her head!

I missed out signing up for this month's Taylored Expressions Customer Blog Hop, but I LOVED this sketch, so I had to use it! The papers are from October Afternoon, Thrift Shop. I love their papers, but they're sorta weathered looking, so I did some distressing to try to balance everything. I even tried to distres the Wal-Mart gingham ribbon, but the ink hardly shows in the photo.

Hope you're having a great day!

MIYAKO FAN / TPE #74 & TESC #119...

Guess what?!? One of my dreams came true last week when Lori Boyd from The Pink Elephant (you know I LOVE that challenge) asked me to join their DT - WOOOOOOHOOOOOO!!! This is my first official card for them...

3 Layers, 2 Die Cuts and Ribbon

We were given this adorable little geisha digi to use (that's why I left her face white - lol - hubby said "you forgot to color her face") by Melyssa Connolly, owner and artist of Whimsie Doodles. Wanna a chance to win this image plus another cute geisha?!? Then play along with the challenge over at The Pink Elephant this week & you could be our lucky winner!

I like Taylor's sketch this week & thought it'd be perfect for this image! The paper is retired Stampin' Up!, which I used to paper piece her kimono. Then I used Copics to add the details to the trim & the inside of the sleeves. The fan is popped up with Pop Dots, and I actually folded it a bit. The tassel I made from floss. I found an Asian~ish font for the sentiment, which is tied with one of the threads from the tassel. The background panel was embossed.

Thanks so much for stopping by & make sure you play along at TPE for your chance to win this and another adorable digi stamp from Whimsie Doodles!

EMMA / TESC #118, ACLP #45 & SSC S&S June wk4...

Here's a cutie-patootie for a late afternoon card, where did I find the time...

2010 Stamp & Scrap Challenge June Week 4
'Paper Piecing'
@ Simply Scrapping Crafts

I made this card with the latest & greatest sketch from Taylored Expressions, using the color challenge from Die Cuts R Us, A Crafty Little Place and also the Simply Scrapping Crafts Stamp & Scrap challenge to paper piece - you KNOW I love me some paper piecing!

This stamp is Emma from artist Lori Boyd, sold by Claudia & Co. I picked it up at Die Cuts R Us... I love stamped images I can color/paper piece! The paper is from Basic Grey, Lemonade. I colored Emma with Copics and wrote in the sentiment. The EF is form Cuttlebug, the Moroccan Screen.

Have a great evening!
