To all SAP #customers The #Fiori app "Import Supplier Invoices" (ID: F3041) allows for the import of multiple supplier invoices into the system simultaneously via an Excel template. However, it is currently limited to non-PO invoices ! 😑 I proposed extending the functionality of this app to include incoming invoices with purchasing document references 🤩 . This enhancement would significantly increase the app's capabilities and benefit AP accountants managing large volumes of invoices. Dear SAP IBP Enthusiast, Allow me to share my top 5 What's New 2405 from the recently SAP IBP upgrade, Productive releases just happened last weekend. ✅ To support Supply Chain's Sustainability topic, new AAKF called FOOTPRINTSUPPLIERPERUNIT has been introduced in the standard template in CI-DS to extract and integrate emission data originating from SAP Sustainability Footprint Management. The data represents the emissions of a material, for example, raw material purchased from a supplier. ✅ To enhance system usability, web-based UI or PWS has been enhanced with new functionalities. One of them is the Contextual Navigations. This is a clever way to analyze the data of the source component at a more granular level. Typically, this works very nice if planners would be doing planning at most at aggregated level but occasionally would need to verify and check data in the detailed level. ✅ To improve collaboration using MS Teams, some enhancements were introduced to separate SAP IBP tasks against personal or business-critical Microsoft Teams tasks. This comes very handy especially if your organizations are heavily using MS Teams as platform for collaboration. ✅ To support and monitor S&OE process using OBP, a new feature is introduced using Flexible Planning Area to take snapshot of fixed orders, sales orders and planned orders from one planning version to another. This is really very crucial especially in dealing with planning data within the frozen period. On top of it, the snapshots happen for full planning data including gating factors and many more. ✅ To enhance the Cost/Carbon Network Aggregation capability, SAP also introduced the subnetwork concept. The same expectation can be done here where you will have a chance to specify the subnetworks that you would only want to execute in SAP IBP. My Personal Thoughts ( SAP IBP ) ---------------------------- SAP IBP is Planning ( SCM ) system and it is supposed to take major inputs from basic ERP e.g SAP .. Wherever Organizations have moved to S/4 HANA recently , they have better data , as they did some system improvements during their Migration project ( ECC - S/4 ) , but wherever ERP is still in ECC so most of time it is very old system ( ECC ) , almost a decade or more old .. hence the concerned data and process which are relevant for IBP Integrations , are very less available or not rightly available in ECC ( Planning part is still in excel ) , this is major challenge to Map / Integrate , and most of data needs to be uploaded in IBP Through excel only , mainly for( Demand Planning , sensing ,time series , Order based ) and upto some extent in IBP MRO also , as SAP ( ECC )Plant maintenance implemented in very basic manner .. Please feel free to share / add your inputs also .. Regards ...

A question for my SAP Master Data and Production Planning friends I'd love to get your input if you are a consultant or experienced business user working with SAP PP (Production Planning). A colleague of mine frequently has a scenario in SAP ECC where they have, say 100 production orders created for a given material. Then either one or all of the master data elements i.e., material, BOM, routing, production version get updated. He wants to 'refresh' the existing (only created, not released) production orders to use the updated master data. My first thought was that I would rather update the master data, cancel the existing 100 orders, and create 100 new ones. This will ensure that the latest / updated master data will be used without the risk that some orders may have used the 'old' master data. My recommendation to cancel the existing orders was mainly because I have experienced many cases (albeit not with production orders) where it can be very dangerous to update SAP transactional documents rather than create them anew. On the other hand, another colleague says that the guy doesn't need to cancel the orders. Instead, they should utilize the 'Read PP master data' feature in the production order. He is probably perfectly correct, and my thoughts were just being too cautious, and / or outdated! But what's your experience or advice on this topic? Thanks! Special Procurement Keys - External Procurement - SAP MM ( SPK) SPKs sit over the MRP process and create special processes PRs instead of the plain jane standard PRs. We can deploy our config to create PRs with specific item categories like K Consignment, L Subcontracting and U Stock Transport Order. So after a MRP Run, the system creates PR with the specific item category. SPK details are entered in the MRP 2 View of the Material Master. The four SPKs in external procurement are : Consignment, Subcontracting, Stock Transport Order and Direct Production. Lets see each of them in detail : A. Consignment : MRP Creates PR with Item category K Consignment. If we have a Vendor Managed Inventory relation with our supplier, then its prudent to create a PR with item category K. Sadly, the system does not do a sanity check to ensure all the consignment pre requisites are fulfilled so the onus is on the end user team to be sure all the settings are made for the entire process to be streamlined executed. So basically MRP creates a K PR and exits the crime scene :) B. Subcontracting : MRP Creates PR with Item Category L Subcontracting. If we have a subcontracting set-up with a vendor, we must use this feature. Remember here, we are doing this for the Finished Goods material and not the components. The MRP run for the Vendor O Stock is a different ball game altogether. BOMs have to maintained for the Finished Goods. The BOM type has to be Purchasing or Universal. Again the system does not make any circuit check, it simply creates a PR with L Item Category. C. Stock Transport Order : MRP Creates PR with Item Category U Stock Transport Order. System expects all STO related configuration to be in place. Sales and Purchasing settings must be done between the receiving and delivering plants. Availability check has to be configured. D. Direct Production : MRP creates PR with AAC F Order. Basically it means that we are procuring a X item against a particular Shop Floor Order. The ordered product will not sit in the general inventory but instead will be delivered directly to the shop-floor requisitioners. Overall, we can say, MRP goes a layer further and helps us to create specific PRs which saves business time and procurement dollars. Please Thumps Up if you find this post helpful.
