Social media can have positive impact for children but Chito Jusi, Client President, Media, dentsu Singapore, believes that a joint stakeholder approach would be required to address issues of children's physical and mental well-being on these platforms. Chito also recognises that as social media is a massive part of most advertisers' channel mixes, alternative media channels to engage with younger consumers will have to be identified if a ban is imposed. Additionally, marketers will also need to understand how they can get their messages to children through engaging with parents and families instead of tailor-fitting content for younger consumers directly. The new Dove initiative, conceptualised alongside Ogilvy Singapore, stems from the recognition of underarm shaming as a persistent issue that diminishes women’s self-esteem and confidence. 8 in 10 Filipino women won’t raise their arms because of underarm insecurity. Bianca Cancellara, global vice president for Dove Deodorant (Unilever), said, “We firmly believe that every woman deserves to exude confidence and empowerment in her own skin. LIA met with Graham Drew, Chief Creative Officer, Grey Malaysia, who is a LIA juror this year and 2024 Creative LIAisons mentees, Anlyne Chen, Art Director and Hana Sudradjat, Copywriter, Grey Malaysia, who will be attending the onsite program running concurrently with LIA judging. Anlyne on what she hopes to attain from the program: "I hope to make connections and new friends with fellow creatives from around the world. I am looking forward to getting inspired by different perspectives and innovative ideas. One of my key interests is understanding how different people judge creative work and what criteria they use, given that design is so subjective. I am particularly eager to see how creative work is showcased across various categories, especially in fields that are not typically associated with creativity, such as health and pharma."
