LSEG (London Stock Exchange Group)’s emissions database shows that the six G20 countries from Asia-Pacific (APAC) – China, Japan, South Korea, India, Indonesia and Australia (collectively referred to as ‘APAC(6)’) – are together responsible for 88% of the carbon emissions of the entire APAC region and for 43% of global emissions. This paper leverages proprietary data sets and methodologies to analyse country-level carbon emissions data and projection models, marginal abatement cost curves and company-level Green Revenues data, providing unique insights into the demand and supply for decarbonisation technologies and solutions in the region.

UPSIDER Secures $104M in Series D Funding to Expand FinTech Innovations UPSIDER, a Tokyo-based FinTech startup, has successfully raised ¥15.4 billion (approximately USD 104 million) in Series D funding. This milestone includes ¥5.5 billion (USD 37 million) in equity financing and ¥9.9 billion (USD 67 million) in cumulative debt financing since early 2024. Key investors include Tencent, Global Brain, Japan Airlines, and SMBC Venture Capital. The funds will drive UPSIDER’s growth in existing services, such as its corporate card platform and payment solutions, and the development of AI-driven innovations like “UPSIDER Coworker.” Since its inception, the company has rapidly scaled, with over 60,000 corporate users and a payment volume exceeding ¥450 billion (USD 3 billion). [[ Task Force for AI-Data Networking-Protocol (TF-AID-NP) ]] Working Group for National AI-Data Training and Inference super-Pool Infrastructure Industry experts and executives to join force together for upgrading the national infrastructure to support seamless AI data flow with trust across all networking nodes and optimize AI data processing including training and inference amongst different multiple data centers and between individual datacenter and distributed edge processing nodes. In addition to data center upgrade, we need new protocol for AI-data networking infrastructure as well, especially for building the National AI-Data Training and Inference super-Pool Infrastructure (NAID-TIPI) amongst hundreds of large-scale datacenters operated by different vendors and providers nationwide. AI-generated data info is totally DIFFERENT from traditional NON-AI data packet! Our Internet infrastructure was NOT designed for AI data packet. The TCP/IP mechanism was developed based on physical packet switching of bit-based error correction control protocol based on physical bit-by-bit, for example, we received 8 bits then correcting 1-2 bits automatically, with round-trip latency. But for AI generated traffic, it is NOT based on bits, rather it is based on token-oriented info segment (otherwise the transmission frame overhead is too big and low efficient), with very low latency. Hence we need new protocol to transmit AI-generated traffics and data. Otherwise large amount of AI-generated information will be filtered out in switch, gateway, router and access points automatically. We need new startups to solve these infrastructure protocol issues.
