With the upcoming launch of Zilliqa 2.0, staking will shift to Proof-of-Stake (PoS), improving security, efficiency, and decentralisation. Here’s what you need to know: ➡️ The old staking system relies on Staked Seed Nodes (SSNs), which operate under a permissioned system and require a minimum stake of 10M $ZIL. ➡️Zilliqa 2.0 replaces miners with PoS validators that stake ZIL as collateral. This enhances decentralisation, reduces costs, and improves efficiency. ➡️Staking on Zilliqa 2.0 will have two components:     ✔️ A deposit contract for anyone to become a validator    ✔️ Delegation contracts for users to stake ZIL with validators ➡️A new staking portal will make delegation simple. Users can choose between:    ✔️ Non-liquid staking – manual reward withdrawals    ✔️ Liquid staking – tradable tokens that accrue rewards ➡️Next steps for stakers and validators:    ✔️ New validators must run a node and stake $ZI    ✔️Delegators will need to move to new contracts    ✔️A migration guide is coming soon!
