Established on 1 September 1995 as a statutory board, the National Library Board (NLB) is an agency under the Ministry of Digital Development and Information (MDDI). NLB manages a network of 28 public libraries, the National Library and the National Archives of Singapore. Journey through Worlds Within to experience a literary adventure like no other where books come to life through all five senses - sight, sound, touch, smell and even taste. Each weekend till 27 July, take a stroll through the Weekend Market to browse curated reads from homegrown bookstore partner Closetful of Books and other crafts and activities just for book lovers. Ang Mo Kio Public Library will be relocating to AMK Hub in 2026, enhancing accessibility for patrons and commuters through the mall's convenient connection to the town's MRT station and bus interchange. Along with greater connectivity, patrons can look forward to enjoying a refreshed library experience at the new space. The new Ang Mo Kio Public Library will boast tall wall bookshelves amid design features inspired by iconic landmarks of Ang Mo Kio. Patrons can also look forward to new immersive and interactive experiences to engage with at the library. The relocated library is targeted to open in 2026, and more details will be announced when ready. In the meantime, patrons can continue enjoying the learning resources, services and facilities at the current site, which will continue to operate as usual until the relocation.

NLB has officially renewed our Memorandum of Understanding with the National Library of Indonesia (NLI) on 18 June 2025. With a signing ceremony between NLB CE Ng Cher Pong, and Director of NLI Professor E. Aminudin Aziz, the MOU covers areas such as knowledge sharing. NLB looks forward to working closely with NLI in the future.
