Last month, AVPN partnered with Tatler Asia to host an exclusive dinner and fireside chat in Hong Kong SAR, China to unpack "Accelerating Progress: Women Driving Change". The event convened influential leaders to explore how to close critical financing gaps in gender equality across Asia‑Pacific, guided by insights from AVPN’s Accelerating Gender Equality: Financing for SDG 5 in the APAC Region report. Insights from AVPN Gender Equality Ambassadors: Sylvia Yu Friedman, Global philanthropy advisor, reflected on the evening’s optimism. Sylvia emphasised the power of collaboration, mentorship and leadership to uplift vulnerable communities and accelerate progress. With more influential women than ever before in the region, she said, it is time to rise together. Olivia Cotes-James, Founder and CEO of LUÜNA, highlighted Hong Kong’s upcoming role as host city for the AVPN Global Conference 2025 in September. Drawing on her work with LUÜNA | B Corp™ and the Good Period Alliance Hong Kong, she underlined the importance of connecting capital with impact. Through her insights, Olivia illustrated how purpose‑driven leaders can unite to close financing gaps and drive forward gender equality. As we look ahead to the AVPN Global Conference 2025, the connections and ideas shared during the evening serve as a powerful reminder of the momentum building across our network.
