The Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson has invited the public to a national moment of silence following the tragic and violent incident in Örebro, Sweden. The moment of silence will take place today at 12.00. At out headquarters in Uppsala, we will participate in this moment of silence and light a candle that will burn throughout the day as a symbol of our support and compassion.

We will be attending E-World in Essen, Germany, from February 11–13, where you can find us at the Swedish Energy Pavilion. Metacon increases its involvement in Pherousa and CO2-free, ammonia-powered deep-sea shipping Metacon has, through its wholly owned subsidiary Metacon SA increased its shareholding in its Norwegian related company Pherousa Green Technologies AS, now re-named Pherousa AS (“Pherousa”), to approximately 35 percent of the capital. At the same time Metacon and Pherousa have signed a new updated exclusive license agreement for Metacon’s ammonia cracking technology for use on board vessels. Furthermore, Metacon SA has entered as a project partner in the EU-funded technology project Safecraft, accessing a total of KEUR 265 in project funding. Last week, a few of our colleagues visited Peric in China to strengthen our collaboration and gain new insights. The test run of the Metacon steam reformer built for the wastewater treatment plant Abwasserverband Kempten (Allgäu) (“AVKE”) is going smoothly. We are happy that the system will be opened to interested and registered visitors in Patras, Metacon SA, Greece from December 2024.   AVKE is a public body of the city of Kempten and operates a mechanical-biological group treatment plant with fermentation towers for the production of biogas. Metacon AB (publ) and AVKE signed in March 2023 a contract for the delivery of a medium-sized HHG hydrogen generator. The aim for the collaboration is to establish a demonstration plant in the field of grid-independent, local hydrogen production. Independently of the reformer installation, the overall project "Vom Klärwerk zum Kraftwerk", including an extensive hydrogen centre, is being built on the AVKE site.   This will be the first HHG hydrogen generator for 24/7 continuous operation to be integrated into a professional wastewater treatment plant. Preparations are being made for the upcoming approval process and we are very much looking forward to the upcoming installation of the reformer in Kempten.
