With our new pricing, we're lowering the risk of cost increase at launch when success is uncertain. We're hoping this gives more developers the confidence to bring their multiplayer ideas to life.

I was having so much fun with Multiplayer Play Mode that I decided to record a video of the process. It shows how to launch a @coherenceio Simulator + 4 clients. This is for Unity devs. The first time I saw this little character melt away due to floating point precision issues I bursted into laugh – but it also made me a bit sad 🥲 I had never seen the effects of “going to the edge of the world” in Unity before. So I created a small video to show what I saw. In the end the only solution is to keep moving objects back to the origin. Because big worlds are often needed in multiplayer games, the coherence SDK for Unity contains a per-object setting that takes the 32-bit coordinates and stores them on the RS in 64 bits. #unity #networking #gamedev

Network topologies are hard. Which one to use, and why? Many default to server-authoritative (this is definitely a trend in the questions we see in our forums), but server-authoritative is not always the best choice. So I made a video on the paradigm we have at coherence, and on how all the pieces of the puzzle come together. I believe our model is one of the most flexible and scalable out there!
