Excited to share that we have closed our Series A funding round of USD30M with the backing of Aramco’s VC arm Wa’ed Ventures, Sumitomo Corporation, and Global Ventures. As a circular led business since 2018, with our new funding we will be changing the way consumers think about purchasing and owning their personal tech devices in the GCC. We want to change the traditional linear model of ownership to a circular one with our new vertical ‘Zaam’- one that sees the lifespan of devices extended to their full potential with secondary users and parts re-used. No device should sit dormant in a drawer or worse still, in landfill. We will save customers money whilst significantly bringing down the environmental impact of e-waste in the region. PIF Revenue Grows by 100% to Reach $88 Billion 🔝 The Public Investment Fund (PIF) has announced a significant growth in its revenues, exceeding 100% over the past year, reaching 331 billion Saudi Riyals ($88 billion). This remarkable growth is attributed to the extensive investments and strategic projects undertaken by the fund as part of Saudi #Vision2030, aimed at enhancing the non-oil economy and diversifying income sources. 🥇 The fund outlined ambitious goals to be achieved by 2025, including doubling the managed assets to 4 trillion Saudi Riyals ($1.07 trillion), compared to its current asset size of approximately 2 trillion Riyals ($533 billion). According to a recent Goldman Sachs Research report, the Kingdom is set to invest USD 1 trillion by 2030 across six strategic sectors, with non-oil investments now projected to make up 73% of the total, up from an earlier estimate of 66%. 🔹 Funding for clean energy is expected to reach USD 235 billion, a significant rise from the previous estimate of USD 148 billion, driven by a more than doubling of the 2030 renewables capacity target. 🔹 The renewable energy capex is estimated at USD 190 billion while investments in clean hydrogen are seen at USD 36 billion. 🔹 Meanwhile, capital expenditures in the oil sector are projected to decline by USD 40 billion between 2024 and 2028. The United States tops the list as the most significant investor in the Arab region. The oil and gas sector in Arab countries attracted 610 projects, executed by 356 foreign and Arab companies, with a total investment cost of $406 billion between January 2003 and May 2024. According to Dhaman's first sector report on oil and gas in Arab countries, presented from its headquarters in Kuwait City, the U.S. led in the number of projects, with 85 representing about 14% of the total.
