⚡️ DareData's annual network dinner! This Saturday, we got together for our annual kick-off dinner, and it’s amazing to see our team grow each time! More great people, more great conversations - and yes, plenty of Daino socks. The real highlight was just catching up, sharing ideas, and enjoying the night together. Right before, our core members met to wrap up 2024 and plan for 2025. ⚡️ Meet Bruno Rebelo Vieira. Bruno joined DareData around a year and a half ago, transitioning from software engineering to pursue his passion for data - whether in data science, machine learning, or data engineering. Since then, he has been working on a major Data Engineering project, building AI and data-driven systems. 💡 At DareData, Bruno is not only growing as an engineer but also as a mentor. He plays an active role in the learning pods, DareData’s unique knowledge-sharing model, where network members train and upskill autonomously. His focus? Supporting aspiring software engineers in their learning journeys. 🥋 Outside of work, Bruno is fully dedicated to Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ). Having started during university, BJJ has become his biggest passion, and he now trains every day, competing both nationally and internationally. Even though Bruno has been with the same client since joining, the network model allows him to explore different projects and collaborate flexibly across industries. Despite being a freelance-driven network, DareData fosters career growth, providing countless opportunities for mentorship, learning, and specialization. 👋 Say hello to Bruno!

🚀 AI Adoption in Europe: we are falling behind or over-regulated? The rise of China’s DeepSeek AI models has reignited concerns that Europe is falling behind in the global AI race. With cost-effective models now challenging American tech giants, European businesses are under increasing pressure to adopt AI more rapidly. In a recent article for ECO, Ivo Bernardo, co-founder and partner at DareData, discusses the slow pace of AI adoption in Europe and Portugal. Despite the potential for significant cost reductions - some DareData clients have cut costs by up to 80% - many companies remain reluctant to embrace AI. 💡 Ivo argues that while regulation is necessary, excessive focus on compliance is stifling Europe’s ability to compete with the U.S. and China.
