Meanwhile, Uncle David begins to visit Eva to cheer her up. In a matter of two weeks, he has fallen in love with her, and he wants to marry her. A telegram arrives from Boojie, who is on his way back to America. He has sold his business, and he is planning on marrying Eva and opening up his own shop in Haverville. Uncle David eventually tells Boojie that he and Eva are now together. To play fairly since Boojie is crushed, Uncle David gives Boojie a chance to make Eva fall in love with him again, so Uncle David goes to stay with his son Solly the doctor for two weeks. Boojie leaves the Goldberg house and stays in a hotel for the two weeks. Then to play it even more fairly, the two cousins spend a week together in Manhattan to give Eva a chance to decide which man she wants. When the two men return, it turns out Eva has picked the gentleman who works as a presser for her in her shop. Both men are the losers. Written by Robert Gold See less
