It isn't his ex Evie, but Andy gets her to volunteer help him write a 'personal statement' to sell his case, yet the mere suggestion of dining together chases her back into aloof mode. Zac feeling obliged to defend the Kings as Leah and Alf apparently gang up against them, Leah throws the towel, declaring their marriage doomed. Marilyn manipulates jealous John into applying reluctantly and ill-prepared for the new school bus contract to detested principal Greg Snelgrove. Alas the men's meeting escalating into a fight seems to scare off the Child Services official who handles the Palmers fostering application, but Snelgrove fixes that and John gratefully makes friends.
