He's reluctant to fully engage in his therapy sessions and group activities. As the days go by, Phil meets another patient called Gaz and they bond over their shared life experiences. Phil enjoys this new friendship, but is disappointed when he learns that Gaz will be leaving the ward. As the weeks continue, support worker Yasmin helps Phil to see that he is ready to leave the unit. Phil listens to voicemails from Sharon and Nigel, before discharging himself.
