They are a couple of scientists, filmmakers, researchers and photographers who have ...See moreThe film tells the story of the Kraffts' lives, from Maurice's first ascent of Stromboli, aged 7, to their tragic death in 1991 on Mount Unzen in Japan. They are a couple of scientists, filmmakers, researchers and photographers who have made volcanology the reason for their existence. Together, they have filmed over 800 hours of footage of 128 volcanic eruptions and have captured over 450,000 films of great aesthetic and scientific value. The documentary represents a journey in stages around the world. Active volcanoes are a reason for stopping and offer the opportunity to tackle different aspects of volcanology, with particular attention to risk prevention, observation of eructive phenomena and the transformation of the terrain.
