Luckily an audience member, Travis Miller, shot this footage on an iPhone preserving at least the first half of this 2 hour spoken word program. Her power gave out so the 2nd half is lost forever. The former popular Coachella Valley Buzz Cafe featured published poets and storytellers as well as songwriters and recording artists. For this fun and relaxed evening, filmmaker, screenwriter, and recording artist with alt rock band, Old Sand Mill, CHIP MILLER, who published a book of his original works and has had dozens of poems published in top magazines, winning several Literary Awards. He has performed his poems throughout NYC, NJ, and in LA. He was on a spoken word tour with Allen Ginsberg and Patti Smith. Also appearing with Chip, is the movies first black cowboy, The Bronz Buckaroo, who was actually HERB JEFFRIES, an Italian character who starred in dozens of TV cowboy series, from "Gunsmoke" to "The Virginian." And pianist, author, humorist, and son of Harpo Marx, BILL. MARX. From Las Vegas, came Grammy nominated hip hop artist/writer, MADD KD known for his powerful lyrics. KD has written hits for numerous rap artists and his two popular music videos were both directed by Chip. And from the desert, multi-instrumentalist, ERIC FRANKSON who played violin in a video Chip directed for Irish pop artist, Astrella-Celeste, daughter of singer/writer, Donovan.
