The lawyer is accompanied by the young and worried lawyer Mateja Krohn, who acts as his right-hand woman in the office. It turns out that Martin suffers from the neurological disease ALS and is getting worse and worse, which is why he offers Mateja his successor. For her, this would be a dream come true. If it weren't for this nausea... and shortly afterwards the certainty: she is pregnant. The timing couldn't be worse. Now Mateja has to decide: family or career? Florian Osterwald is at her side, even if his support is not entirely neutral due to his personal background... Dr. Matteo Moreau is initially delighted when he meets his former instructor Prof. Dr. Doris Strohsing in the emergency room, who has broken her wrist. Because it was Doris from whom he learned his very special pedagogy: strictness and discipline. But he finds out that Doris has given up medicine, retired and has become mellow with age, because she asks Matteo not to be so strict with the assistant doctor Olli Probst. Matteo can't believe it: there must be something serious behind her behavior. Julia is back from vacation and Elly is back in Erfurt. When the two friends talk, Julia assures her that she doesn't lack anything in her life - especially not a relationship.
