The two laugh and reminisce about the movie they saw until Penny stops abruptly, a shocked look on her face. There is a man slumped over on her doorstep. He appears to be disoriented, unkempt, and his presence alarms her. Mike reassures Julia, "Let me handle this," as he nudges the man with his foot, "Get up, move along!" Julia is taken aback by Mike's lack of compassion, attempting to rouse a man who is clearly in distress. She bends down, "Are you alright? Do you need medical attention?" The man lifts his weary head, and Julia recognizes him. "Paul!" How could it be Paul? He was reported missing in action and presumed dead while serving in the army. They never found his body. Could it truly be him? Julia places her arm under Paul's and implores Mike to help the man inside. Mike is dubious that this man is indeed who Julia believes him to be. He searches through the man's pockets, opens his jacket, and finds his military identification tag: "Paul Greenwood." Julia gasps, "It's him!"
