Karolina's family talked about the events in which their relatives died only behind closed doors. To find out the truth about her ancestors, Karolina sets off to Volhynia. She is accompanied by Ukrainian cinematographer Oleksandr, who also wants to learn about the story in which his family members were participants. Together they travel through areas where Poles once lived, and now the landscape is empty fields. They talk to residents, some of whom still remember the tragic events of 1943. Written by
