It mostly happened by accident not long after she moved to the city a couple of decades ago. It's an unusual hobby, keeping pigeons. Then again, Diane doesn't always feel like a "usual" person. She's unique in myriad ways, and among the animal kingdom, so are her pigeons. They have an uncanny ability to find their way home even over great distances, perils, and obstacles, and no one quite knows how they do it. What we do know is that they're tuned into something most of us can't see, something that guides them to the place where they belong. In the Air is a short film about the longing we feel to find the place we belong, and the sense that there might be something trying to show us the way. See less
