During the Mother's stay in the hospital, her Father moves into the adult Daughter's apartment. The two don't actually know each other, he abandoned his daughter and wife many years ago. It is therefore not surprising that the Daughter treats him at the beginning as a strange man, and moreover responsible for the separation of his parents. From the father and mother's retrospective accounts, we learn the story of their youthful, short-lived love. Now, after many years, Father and Daughter have a chance to get to know and maybe even understand each other. However, they would both have to make an incredible effort to overcome prejudices, eliminate the sense of injustice experienced by the Daughter and the sense of guilt experienced by the Father.
