As Hubert and Staller inspect the supposed entry hole in the fence, red liquid drips from a vehicle that has just emerged from the scrap press. Staller's initial suspicion is confirmed by forensic pathologist Dr. Anja Licht: it is human blood. It quickly becomes clear that the naive crane operator Mick Wiesinger had nothing to do with the gruesome discovery. Yazid, the jack of all trades, advises Hubert and Staller to take a closer look at Maximilian Bofinger. Maximilian, who is in a relationship with Johanna, the daughter of station manager Girwidz, doesn't seem to be exactly an innocent lamb, according to Yazid. The police sergeants take the young man under their wing and learn that he was at the scrapyard on the night of the crime. He fled the premises as a car slowly approached. Maximilian is able to identify the vehicle from the surveillance camera footage, and the owner is quickly identified. The owner is Sebastian Weiß, whose house Hubert and Staller immediately visit. When Mrs. Weiß explains that she was about to report her husband missing, the two suspect that the dead man must be Weiß - a suspicion that a DNA test soon confirms. While searching the house, Hubert and Staller notice that one room is strangely locked. According to Nicole Weiß, her husband wanted to surprise them with its design. The two investigators break the lock and find a fully furnished children's room. The widow is stunned, as she is not expecting a child herself. When evidence is found in the house safe that the deceased has a child from a previous relationship, everything points to a family drama. Written by ARD Das Erste See less
