'The rats' are a free Berlin theater troupe on the edge of society. A aging punks, they lead a life that is free and self-determined on one hand, and marked by alcohol and poverty on the other. Despite this, their lives revolve around theater. We accompany Peter, Christa, Heinz and the other rats along their production 'Rattenmonologe' (monologues of the rats) - a reading about stories of alcohol, drugs, violence and prison, stories that could be their own ones. As Peter puts it: 'Loser stories are all identical in the end.' 'Rat stories' is a humorous portrait that shows the love of life and the passion for theater. Written by
