Yet they continue to fuel the vivid imagination of humans, who cannot help but associate them with dragons: horned skulls, scaly carapaces and oversized wings are all strikingly reminiscent of the chimerical creatures of millennia-old myths, widely represented in the popular bestiary of "fantasy", from "Lord of the Rings" to "Game of Thrones". These tales and legends have certainly helped to influence the portrayal of dinosaurs, which continues to evolve with the progress of science. See less
