But is sure isn't bliss - the landlady is his mother-in-law Adrienne. Adrienne's a stickler for house rules about noise and tidiness, and won't stop reminding Jeff about his responsibilities and his cheap rent. She's worried about her daughter's future and doubts these two will ever have the resources to move out of her house and into the good life.
