They insert an advertisement in a daily paper for an experienced housekeeper. It is answered by Ethel Jennings. The three young men engage her. She begins her duties at once and finds herself surrounded by three ardent admirers. They even complicate her duties by insisting on helping her. At the end of one short month each one determines to learn his fate. In turn each proposes to her and two are shocked and disconsolate over her acceptance of the young lawyer Harry. The two remaining bachelors, disappointed and thoroughly unhappy over the outcome, prepare a second Want Ad for the paper which reads: "Wanted: A housekeeper, must be short, fat and over 65. Address 127, this office." Written by Moving Picture World synopsis See less
