Volunteering to help sort fine slips Della soon gets Toby and the boss to rival for her attention. Mieke's attempt to ape her and accusations she must have a hidden motive are discarded as jealousy, waterworks after a formal accusation once overheard talking to her boss allow Della to make the commissioner prove he trusts her by telling her the code.
