They meet regularly in the Dachau concentration camp memorial or in the directly adjacent monastery. For quite a few people, this relationship between "Jew and nun" is an imposition. The filmmakers Marina Maisel and Michael Bernstein see this as an important message that they want to document and pass on. In October 2015 they invite Mannheimer and Sr. Elija to have a conversation with each other in front of the camera. The result is the film "Dachauer Dialoge", which documents a unique, Jewish-Christian dialogue, portrays a groundbreaking friendship and takes us into an intensive confrontation with current, universal, but also very personal questions. The trust in the power of words and the charisma of two extraordinary protagonists distinguish this film, make it a special experience and a unique document of contemporary history. "Whoever listens cries bitter tears over the past and learns with the soul for the coexistence of people and religions," says Susanne Breit-Keßler, regional bishop of Munich.
