Today, hammams are disappearing in many Mediterranean countries. With their disappearance, Islamic cities are about to lose a major feature of their heritage. The aim of the Hammamed project is to raise awareness for the hamman's importance. The filmmakers support the project with short films shot in Cairo, Damascus, Fez and Ankara. See less
