Thinking that it will not do any harm to scare him a little, the doctor tells him that he must fast for three days. This Billy does faithfully and grows hungrier by the minute. On the third day he gets a note from his sweetheart asking him to attend a birthday party. He goes, and what is his dismay to find a great big dinner awaiting the guests, which he, of course, cannot eat. Rather than alarm his friends, he puts his food in his pockets, and, when these are full, into the pockets of his neighbors.
