But now the grumpy Bavarian country innkeeper has to come to terms with the past, whether he likes it or not: After the tragic accidental death of his son and his wife, Ludwig is obliged to look after his 13-year-old grandson Jonas: a "hip" Hamburg city boy who hides his deep grief behind a rebellious attitude. It is clear that arguments arise between the grumpy misanthropist Ludwig and the rebellious teenager. However, not least thanks to Ludwig's sensitive and resolute housekeeper Rosi, the two squabblers gradually get used to each other. Ludwig soon takes his grandson deep into his heart. Not only that: out of love for Jonas, Ludwig even refrains from converting his pastures into building land despite high loan debts - because doing so would deprive Carla Stelzer, the mother of Jonas' new love Julia, of her livelihood. But no sooner has this problem been solved than new trouble is on the horizon: Jonas' bitchy, childless Aunt Sonja has found out that the boy is in for a rich inheritance - and the snobby lady wants to get her hands on this money at any price. She and her husband (Markus H. Eberhard) actually manage to get custody of Jonas. While Jonas makes his aunt's life hell in every way possible, Ludwig and Rosi try their luck at the youth welfare office - without success. Until Carla's new boyfriend, the likeable lawyer Patrick von Halen, brings to light the real reason for Aunt Sonja's sudden care. Written by ADR Das Erste See less
