Her parents refuse to allow her to go out with him in the evening and they consequently separate. He goes to one of the cheaper dance halls. The result of this incident is that the love story is broken and we see the young man go from bad to worse until he finally loses his position and spends his time in saloons. Meanwhile the girl has been invited to one of the social centers at one of the public school buildings, has joined the dancing class there and met other boys and girls. So it happens that after a lapse of time our hero sees his one-time sweetheart in the company of another young man. He follows them out of jealousy, forces his way into the social center and pushes past the old doorkeeper in an attempt to find the youth who has supplanted him. When he finds the girl the young man is not with her, but by this time the director of the social center has brought an officer to put the intruder out. The girl, however, stepping forward, forestalls the director by introducing our hero as her friend and asking the director to make him welcome. This, and the director's kindness, completely disarms the young man, and having had a glimpse of other kinds of fun he is only too glad to become one of the frequenters of the social center. Of course he wins back his lost position and of course he wins the girl. Written by Moving Picture World synopsis See less
