We look back on 2024 with a productive year of 𝗳𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗱𝘆 𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘀 where, together with our consortium partners Microfinance Centre and European Microfinance Network, we welcomed 38 participants from 21 European Microfinance Institutions across 11 EU-27 member states. These visits provided the opportunity to engage with five host institutions, enabling participants to gain valuable insights and benchmark best practices in areas ranging from #digitalization and #social impact to fostering #cooperation and #mentoring. 🌍 🌿 𝗠𝗙𝗖 𝗮𝗺𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗺𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗺𝘆 🌿🌍 The CEO of Microfinance Centre, Katarzyna Pawlak (MBA) has joined the 𝗕𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗮 𝗔𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗖𝗶𝗿𝗰𝗹𝗲 on 𝗣𝗼𝘀𝘁-𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘄𝘁𝗵 𝗙𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 as an expert in sustainable finance and microfinance. This initiative, organized by Research & Degrowth International (Barcelona) and the Sustainable Finance Lab (Utrecht), brings together 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘁𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗺𝗼𝘁𝗲 𝗮 𝗳𝗮𝗶𝗿 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗺𝘆. The 𝗔𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗖𝗶𝗿𝗰𝗹𝗲 includes notable members such as Hans Stegeman, chief economist at Triodos Bank; LAURA ORTIZ MONTEMAYOR, founder of SVX MX / SVX México Mexico and Lucie Pinson, founder of Reclaim Finance - ONG. They will discuss how the financial sector can support a thriving global economy without relying on continuous economic growth, which is strongly correlated with GHG emissions. From June 2024 to June 2025, the Circle will gather 15 stakeholders in virtual meetings and an in-person gathering in Barcelona to create a 𝗻𝗲𝘁𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸, formulate action agreements, and develop policy proposals for a 𝘀𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗽𝗼𝘀𝘁-𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘄𝘁𝗵 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻.
