According to official statistics given by the Judicial Commission of Pakistan, 63,000 cases of violence against women were reported in just the past three (03) years alone. It is important to stress that these are the cases that were reported. Numerous women and girls across Pakistan disappear in the dead of night, never to be seen or heard from again. Umair Aziz, co-founder of Qanoondan - The Legal Diaries, had a productive meeting with CPO Faisalabad, DIG Kamran Adil sb. During the meeting, they discussed how Qanoondan and Faisalabad Police will collaborate to enhance community safety. Mr. Kamran presented a shield to Mr. Umair as a symbol of our partnership. They also explored the Faisalabad Police's child protection initiatives, which include child counseling and seminars at schools and universities. Additionally, we visited the Khidmat Markaz center, where we learned about the FSD Police's initiatives for the Meesaq Center for Transgender individuals and the Tahafuz Center for deaf and mute people. CPO Kamran Adil's initiative to create a co-working space is also commendable. It provides space for those who lack a workspace. Together, we are making strides towards a safer and more inclusive community!
