𝗔𝗱𝗮𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗚𝗟𝗣-𝟭 𝗥𝗲𝘃𝗼𝗹𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: 𝗔 𝗖𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗜𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗙𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘆 🌍 A recent study from Cornell University, S.C. Johnson College of Business revealed how GLP-1 receptor agonists, such as Ozempic and Wegovy, are 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗵𝗮𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘀𝘂𝗺𝗲𝗿 𝗯𝗲𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗶𝗼𝗿. Grocery spending on calorie-dense snacks and processed foods has dropped significantly—up to 11% in some categories—while nutrient-dense, low-carb options are gaining attention. This shift is more than a trend—it’s a wake-up call for the food industry. As GLP-1 adoption accelerates, companies have an urgent opportunity to lead by 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗳𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗼𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗺𝗲𝗲𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗲𝘃𝗼𝗹𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗱𝗲𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗱𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵-𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗰𝗶𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘀𝘂𝗺𝗲𝗿𝘀. But how can we turn this challenge into meaningful action? At The Protein Brewery, we believe part of the answer lies in sustainable, innovative ingredients. Fermotein® is a 100% whole-food mycoprotein that empowers manufacturers to: 🍪 Offer better-for-you baked goods and snacks like cookies and protein bars, by 𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗶𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗳𝗶𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁, and lowering the net carb score of these products. 🍫 𝗥𝗲𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗲 𝘀𝘂𝗴𝗮𝗿 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗯𝘀 in indulgent products like confectionery butters and chocolates—without compromising taste. 🥛 Create 𝗻𝘂𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁-𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗲 𝗱𝗮𝗶𝗿𝘆 𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲𝘀 like yogurt, cheeses, and spreads; a category where purchase increase is detected, according to the same study. 🥨 Include extruded crisps and puffs in nutritional bars to offer 𝗮𝗱𝗱𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝘁𝗲𝘅𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗺𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵𝗳𝗲𝗲𝗹 with a unique nutritional profile to consumers. 🧋 Target health-conscious consumers with a mycoprotein ready-to-mix product that 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘀 𝘇𝗶𝗻𝗰, 𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲 (𝘃𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗻 𝗕𝟰), 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗺𝗮𝗴𝗻𝗲𝘀𝗶𝘂𝗺, supporting multiple diets. We’re already in dialogue with some leading CPG companies, but if, as an industry, we truly want to make a sustainable impact on health and nutrition, we invite others to join the conversation. An open invitation to the teams at PepsiCo, Nestlé, Kellogg Company, and Mars: let’s explore how we can innovate together to shape the future of food.💡🌱 #Fermotein #FoodInnovation #GLP1 #CPG

🚀 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝗰𝘂𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗙𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗙𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗜𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝘁 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗶𝗻 𝗕𝗿𝗲𝘄𝗲𝗿𝘆 🚀 Today, we had the honor of welcoming Wim Meulenkamp, Thom van Campen, and their teams, along with HollandBio’s Timen van Haaster and Rianne Hageman, to our plant for another crucial discussion on the challenges and delays in the 𝗻𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗹 𝗳𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗮𝗹 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀. This visit follows the initiative by Wim Meulenkamp (VVD), who recently introduced a motion urging the Dutch government to play an active role in Europe. The aim? To identify and address bottlenecks in the European Novel Foods procedures and enable tastings of innovative foods from 𝗯𝗶𝗼𝗺𝗮𝘀𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻—both vital for driving sustainable food innovation. The conversation covered: • How regulatory delays impact the pace of innovation for companies like ours. • The importance of 𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘂𝗽 𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗮𝗹𝘀 for novel proteins like Fermotein® to unlock their potential in creating 𝗮𝗳𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗱𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲, 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵𝘆, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗱𝗶𝗲𝘁𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗮𝗹𝗹. • The need for the Netherlands to remain a leader in alternative protein development and future-proof food security. A special thanks to hollandbio for co-organizing this visit and to all participants for recognizing the urgency of addressing these barriers. Together, we’re shaping the future of food innovation! 🌱 #FoodInnovation #AlternativeProteins #NovelFoods #RegulatoryChange #Fermotein
