𝐈𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐫𝐮𝐬𝐡 𝐨𝐟 𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐞, 𝐝𝐨𝐧'𝐭 𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐠𝐞𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐡 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬… We live in a busy world full of stimulation, where we are expected to be "on" every day, both at work and in our personal lives. The demands are high, and it can be hard to keep up that pace. After busy months, I can't wait to relax with my family and friends. I believe it is absolutely essential to make time to recharge. This helps you to keep your energy and inspiration high, and to see life with a fresh perspective. A week ago, I lost a dear colleague. This made me reflect on how short life is and how important it is to enjoy things and cherish the people that matter to you and to live in the present, because you never know what might happen tomorrow. 𝗗𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗳 𝗮 𝗳𝗶𝗯𝗿𝗲 𝗼𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗰 𝗰𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗡𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗵 𝗦𝗲𝗮 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗪𝗮𝗱𝗱𝗲𝗻 𝗦𝗲𝗮!🌊🔧 We are proud to share our role in the project to decommission the old TGN-NER submarine fiber optic cable in the North Sea. This cable ran from Eemshaven to the United Kingdom. From 2020 to 2025, our consultants, Frank Vrenken and Konrad Lüftner, worked intensively with McMahon Design and Management - MDM Engineering to secure all necessary permits. In this way, they played a crucial part in this important project. 🌐🤝 With our environmental advisory services, we not only mapped the ecological impact but also communicated effectively with all relevant authorities in the Netherlands and Germany. Together with Gemeente Boxtel and Gemeente Sint-Michielsgestel, TAUW Nederland partnered with MijnGemeenteDichtbij to tackle the growing impact of prolonged heat waves on city life. Together, we developed the Urban Heat Solutions Guide, a practical and multidisciplinary approach to urban heat adaptation. 🌍🤝 What made this project special? Experts from spatial planning, building management, and public health joined forces to create integrated solutions. 𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗳𝘂𝗹 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁𝘀: 𝗙𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗟𝗲𝗴𝗮𝗰𝘆 𝗦𝗶𝘁𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗙𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲-𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗼𝗳 𝗔𝘀𝘀𝗲𝘁 🌱🏗️ At TAUW, we joined forces with Agrifirm to transform the historic Lage Weide site in Utrecht into a sustainable, development-ready location. By managing everything from research and demolition to remediation, we made sure the site is now free of restrictions and ready for new possibilities 🚧♻️. Circularity was central, with local reuse of construction materials prioritized throughout the process 🔄🏘️.
