𝗧𝗮𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝘀, 𝗘𝗺𝗯𝗿𝗮𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗚𝗿𝗼𝘄𝘁𝗵: 𝗧𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗶𝘀 Lisanne Fornier'𝘀 𝗝𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗻𝗲𝘆 𝗮𝘁 𝗣𝗶𝗰𝗻𝗶𝗰 🚀 Three years ago, I took a leap into the unknown. After my experience at a big corporate, I had set out to find a workplace that was fun, dynamic, and full of opportunities—somewhere I could truly grow. That search led me to Picnic. I initially applied for a finance role, but during the process, I quickly caught the Picnic vibes—fast-paced, ambitious, and full of energy. The role wasn’t quite the challenge I was looking for, but there was an unexpected opportunity in payroll. It wasn’t my original plan, but I thought, 𝘸𝘩𝘺 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘴𝘦𝘦 𝘸𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘐 𝘤𝘢𝘯 𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘵𝘳𝘪𝘣𝘶𝘵𝘦? That decision changed everything. I went from manually processing payroll changes to automating processes and even building integrations. At Picnic, I had the freedom to step outside my role, explore APIs, and improve operations in ways I never expected. Along the way, I earned the nickname “Sallie”—a sign of how happy I make people with their Salary 😉 and how much this journey has shaped me. Beyond the work itself, what’s kept me here is the people. The energy of a fast-growing company, the ambitious colleagues, the strong social culture—it all makes Picnic more than just a workplace. And, of course, the daily breakfasts, warm lunches, and Friday beers don’t hurt either! 🍻 Now, I’m taking on my next challenge, transitioning to the Reporting & Control team to further develop in finance.
