NoPalm Ingredients employs a unique fermentation process using non-GMO proprietary yeasts combined with a patented low-capex technology. This process transforms upcycled, locally-sourced agri-food sidestreams, such as potato peels and whey permeate, into yeast oils. Feedback from customers indicates that NoPalm Ingredients’ oils are an ideal drop-in replacement for palm oil, requiring no recipe reformulation and achieving price parity. This is made possible by the use of agri-food sidestreams and an asset-light technology that is quick to scale. Additionally, the technology also boasts a 90% reduction in CO2 emissions and a 99% decrease in land use compared to traditional palm oil production.

That’s why we have been working together within 𝐏𝐀𝐋𝐌+, a European-funded consortium led by NoPalm Ingredients, to develop specific oils and fats that are 𝐬𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞, 𝐜𝐨𝐬𝐭-𝐞𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 and 𝐬𝐜𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞. 🌱 The 𝐄𝐮𝐫𝐨𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐫 𝐬𝐮𝐛𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐲 has brought together an incredible group of partners, including Those Vegan Cowboys , Loki Foods, University of Iceland (Háskóli Íslands) and Flecks Brauhaus Technik GmbH Technik. This group combines expertise in 𝐞𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐩𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐝𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭, 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐭 𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 and 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐮𝐦𝐞𝐫 𝐢𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐬 to push boundaries in the oil and fat industry. 🌍 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐰𝐞 𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐝 𝐬𝐨 𝐟𝐚𝐫?  🚀 Scaled up production of tailored fats that match our partners’ needs  🧀 Supported Those Vegan Cowboys in creating the first cheeses made entirely from cellular agricultural products  🐟 Enabled Loki Foods to craft delicious fish alternatives using our fermentation-derived fats  🛍️ Explored consumer perception towards microbial oils with The University of Iceland  ⚙️ Developed new equipment concepts with Flecks Brauhaus Technik to improve production scalability Because this project is highly multidisciplinary, collaboration has been key to reaching these milestones. In her role, she will develop medium engineering strategies to optimize oil production and work on our bioreactor fermentation development process. Her scientific knowledge is key to the further refinement of our fermentation technology. 📒 Leoniek Robroch Leoniek joins us as our 𝐑𝐞𝐠𝐮𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲 𝐀𝐟𝐟𝐚𝐢𝐫𝐬 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐫, playing a crucial role in ensuring that NoPalm Ingredients navigates regulatory landscapes efficiently. She will obtain regulatory clearances across multiple markets, keeping our time-to-market as short as possible. Her expertise offers actionable insights into navigating regulatory procedures across different jurisdictions. 🧫 Daniela Comellas Daniela joins us from HAN University of Applied Sciences, where she specializes in 𝐁𝐢𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐧𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐲. As our 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧, she is working on a preparatory study to better understand and optimize pre-treatment processes for our ingredients. Last summer, we reached 5,000L. And now? We’ve hit 120,000L! 📈 Proving that sustainable, circular and local oils and fats production is feasible on a commercial scale. 💡 𝐖𝐡𝐲 𝐢𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐚 𝐠𝐚𝐦𝐞-𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐫? ✅ Proven scalability of a true drop-in replacement for palm and other tropical oils ✅ On the path to make sustainable alternatives cost-competitive ✅ Made from upcycled food industry side streams, reinforcing circularity and affordability. With palm oil demand growing 4% annually and no strategy to supply this sustainably, the need for alternatives remains critical. Our fermentation-derived oil is ready to 𝐟𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐠𝐚𝐩 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐫𝐞𝐯𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐢𝐳𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐨𝐢𝐥 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐟𝐚𝐭𝐬 𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐲. 👉 𝐎𝐮𝐫 𝐧𝐞𝐱𝐭 𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐩𝐬?
