This week, the Netherlands is proudly showcasing its innovation and expertise at its own pavilion at SEMICON Korea, with Marielle Lagers and Jay Seo from the #InvestInHolland team actively participating in the event. From February 19-21, 2025, Dutch Minister Dirk Beljaarts of the Ministry of Economic Affairs, is in Seoul to strengthen ties with South Korea in investment, technological development, and strategic partnerships. As part of the event, the Netherlands-Korea seminar is addressing key industry topics such as supply chain optimization and R&D collaboration. Minister Beljaarts is meeting with leaders from major companies, including Samsung, SK Hynix, ASML, ASM, and POSCO Holdings, reinforcing the Netherlands' role as a key player in the global semiconductor ecosystem. With its high-tech ecosystem, world-class R&D, and industry-leading semiconductor companies, the Netherlands remains a top destination for investment in the future of chips. Mitsubishi Materials has establised its European HQ in Amsterdam in 2024. This headquarters further supports the Japanese company's European resource recycling businesses for materials such as E-Scrap, copper scrap and lithium-ion battery (LIB) recycling. Hans Kuijpers, Director of Investment Projects for the NFIA, present at the opening in September: 'We are delighted to welcome Mitsubishi Materials in opening its new European Head office in the Netherlands, helping to shape a sustainable and innovative economy. A great example of a foreign company bringing new innovations to the Netherlands is MoCA Cognition. The Canadian company has joined the ecosystem at the High Tech Campus Eindhoven to establish its new innovation hub. At the new innovation hub at the High Tech Campus, MoCa collaborates with partners like Eindhoven University of Technology to develop new AI-based diagnostic test to detect diseases like Alzheimer and Parkinson, or brain tumors. In 2024, Infinite Acres a technology-focused daughter of the American vertical farming company 80 Acres Farms, opened a field lab in The Hague. In this research location, Infinite Acres aims to bring researchers and experts from local and global partners together. At the Infinite Acres' research center, the company and its partners can now expedite the development of vertical farming for more sustainable, eco-friendly and healthy food cultivation solutions around the world.
